Indian Meteorological Department (IMD): The month of February is about to end, but the way the weather is increasing in heat, it is forcing people to get scared. According to the Meteorological Department, the heat will increase further in the coming days. Heat wave may also occur before Holi. The sunlight falling in Delhi during the day is making people feel lukewarm. However, the feeling of cold remains in the air. Talking about the capital Delhi, the weather here is cold in the morning and night, while it is sunny during the day.

The day temperature has started increasing due to the heat from the sun. Compared to last week, the maximum temperature this week has also increased by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius. This time in the southern states, an increase of 4 to 6 degrees Celsius has been seen in the month of February. The temperature in Maharashtra and Orissa is recording up to 33 degrees Celsius. This time this trend started being recorded from the first week of February itself, which had started in the third week in the last two years.

Heat wave will start even before Holi!

This time the coldest mornings and nights were recorded in the capital Delhi in the last 16 years. Despite sunshine on most of the days, the day temperature in February was also the lowest in five years. According to the Meteorological Department, this time also the pre-monsoon season across the country will be similar to the last two years. This time heatwave may occur even before Holi. However, there is no need to worry much because this time Holi is in the last week of March.

Last year in 2023, more than 100 incidents of extreme weather occurred in eight states in the country. In Himachal Pradesh, the weather remained at its peak for maximum 149 days, while in Madhya Pradesh, weather events affected people for 141 days and in Kerala and UP for 119-119 days. Different states of the country faced heavy rains and floods for a maximum of 208 days.
