Political parties are continuously brainstorming about the selection of candidates for the assembly elections in Maharashtra. October 29 is the last date for filing nominations, but the situation regarding the selection of candidates on many seats is not clear. Worli Assembly seat is one of the high profile seats of Mumbai. From here, Shiv Sena (UBT) has fielded Aditya Thackeray while Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde) is also preparing to give a tough challenge. For this, two big names are being discussed.
Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) is working on a strategy to field Rajya Sabha MP Milind Deora to give a tough challenge to Uddhav Thackeray’s son Aditya Thackeray. There has been serious discussion in this regard in the party. In this connection, many big leaders including CM Shinde have talked to Milind Deora and it is being considered that Milind Deora should be fielded as a strong young face in front of Aditya. However, a final decision on this has not been taken yet.
Eknath Shinde group engaged in brainstorming
Those close to Milind Deora, heir of the powerful Deora family, have also confirmed that right now only discussions are taking place, the final decision will be taken by the party.
Apart from Milind, the name of Shaina NC is also being discussed on behalf of BJP for Worli seat. Shaina NC’s full name is Shaina Nana Chudasama and has been very successful in the field of fashion designing. Shaina is also the spokesperson of Bharatiya Janata Party at present. Shaina NC has been continuously meeting the workers in the area for the last few days and has also started holding meetings.
BJP is also doing special planning
However, the situation is not yet clear as to whose quota the Worli seat will go to. But speculations are being made that Shinde faction may get this seat under the quota in the Mahayuti alliance. In such a situation, they have Milind Deora as a strong face, but majority of Marathi voters decide the victory in Worli seat, hence it is mandatory for the parties to keep this in mind.
If Milind Deora does not contest the elections, then BJP can field Shaina NC by getting her to join the Shinde group. Before this, BJP has made a total of 3 of its leaders including 2 former MPs join NCP (Ajit Pawar faction) and got them tickets from there.
Since the process for elections in Maharashtra started on October 22, more than 150 candidates, including Aditya Thackeray, have filed nominations across the state. The last date for filing nomination papers is 29 October. Voting will be conducted here on 20th November. Counting of votes will take place on November 23.
