After losing in Pakistan, the England team has now lost badly in the West Indies. England went bankrupt on Diwali in the first ODI against West Indies. In the first match of the three-match ODI series, West Indies defeated England by 8 wickets. England was hurt the most by West Indies opener Evin Lewis, who scored 94 runs in just 69 balls. Lewis hit 8 sixes and 5 fours in his innings and his strike rate was around 140.
Louise’s storm
This match was decided through the Duckworth-Lewis principle because rain had interfered in the match. Batting first, the England team was reduced to just 209. After this rain came and West Indies got the target of 157 runs in 35 overs but due to the storm of Lewis, West Indies won 10 overs earlier. Lewis sealed England’s defeat by making a century partnership with Brandon King. Both the batsmen added 118 runs in just 19.1 overs. However, King’s contribution in this was only 30 runs and for this also he played 56 balls. But on the other hand, Lewis was in his element and scored a half-century in 46 balls with the help of 5 sixes and after this the player batted aggressively and scored 94 runs. However, he was out on the ball of Adil Rashid and missed his century by just 6 runs.

The magic of Gudkesh Moti spin
Before Evin Lewis, the magic of left arm spinner Gudkesh Moti was shown, who took the wind out of England’s baseball batsmen. Moti took 4 wickets for just 41 runs in 10 overs. He completely destroyed the middle order of England. Captain Livingston definitely played an inning of 48 runs. Sam Curran contributed 37 runs but England’s batsmen could not settle much on the wicket. This team was limited till the 46th over and ultimately lost.
