Know why the returning officer had to take this decision
On behalf of BJP, lawyer Sanket Gupta, while presenting his side before the Returning Officer, said that according to the guidelines of the Supreme Court, no candidate can hide the information about the cases registered against him in his election nomination. It is mandatory to give all the information. If anyone does this, his nomination will be cancelled. Keeping these arguments, BJP demanded cancellation of nomination. It is said that the Returning Officer had given time till 6 pm on Tuesday to Meenakshi Natarajan to present her side over the objection of BJP. But the officials were not satisfied with the version presented by Meenakshi and gave this decision.
Tension in BJP Congress
As soon as the returning officer canceled the nomination of Meenaksha Natarajan, Congress leaders created a ruckus in the assembly premises. Also during this period there was a debate between the leaders of both Congress and BJP parties. Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar had termed BJP’s objection as baseless and said that no criminal case has been registered against Meenakshi Natarajan, but only a court notice has been received.
Three Rajya Sabha seats in Madhya Pradesh

These include four seats each in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat, three seats each in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, two seats in Jharkhand and one seat each in Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur and Meghalaya. Apart from this, notification was also issued for by-elections on one seat each in Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Odisha.
Who is Meenaksha Natarajan?
Let us tell you that Meenakshi Natarajan was born in Nagda Birlagram of Ujjain district. He graduated in Biochemistry and obtained a bachelor’s degree in Law from Devi Ahilya University. After joining NSUI, he started participating in politics. She was the President of the National Student Union of India from 1999 to 2002. Also, she held the post of President in Madhya Pradesh Youth Congress from 2002-2005. She became MP by winning the Lok Sabha elections for the first time in 2009 from Mandsaur seat.
