Why was Harsh Singh arrested even though there was no evidence? Inside Story of BHU Gang Rape Case – Khel Ja

The rape incident that took place on the night of November 1 in the BHU campus had shocked the entire country. The rape of a second year IIT student had raised many questions on law and order inside the university. The opposition tried to corner BJP on this issue. There was increasing pressure on the police to arrest the accused. Meanwhile, the police came to know about Harsh Singh, a resident of Rajeev Nagar, Karaudi, who is a supplier. Harsh works to supply material to contractors.

On the night of the incident, Harsh reached BHU gate via Susuvahi, Karaudi, Naria to get the truck entered. Leaving the truck at the gate at around 12.50 in the night, he returned to his residence in Rajiv Nagar at 12.57. When the police searched the CDR, all these things came to light. After this, when the previous record of Harsh Singh was seen, it was found that cases of 323, 504 and 506 were already registered against Harsh Singh. He also has a bullet. The suspicion of the police was continuously increasing. After this, on November 3, Harsh Singh was arrested by the police near Kakarmatta flyover.

As soon as 25 year old Harsh Singh was arrested, an atmosphere was created against Harsh Singh on social media. People started posting about his character. The police started finding the target easy. Now a script was prepared to put the blame for the entire incident on Harsh. But the timing of the incident spoiled the plan of the police. The timing of the incident was around 1.30 am, while Harsh Singh was seen in CCTV entering from the entry gate of Rajiv Nagar at 12.47 am.

There is only one entry and exit gate in Rajivnagar, whereas according to the statement of the security guard, Harsh Singh did not go out of Rajivnagar from 12.47 to 6.30 in the morning. Also, that night he did not go in Bullet but in his Thar car. The police theory appeared to be failing. Harsh’s lawyer Deepak Rajveer vocally presented these facts before the police due to which the police had to release Harsh Singh after three days.

Harsh’s lawyer Deepak Rajveer questions the intentions of the police and asks why the functioning of the police in this case in 2023 was like that of the twentieth century. Many CCTV cameras have been installed from Susuwahi to BHU Gate, yet the police was pressurizing Harsh for three days. This behavior of the police has raised suspicion whether the police is trying to save the people involved in the incident?
