The results of the assembly elections in Maharashtra have been declared and now the suspense regarding the post of Chief Minister has increased. 1- Thackeray faction may attack Mahayuti: Sources in the Shinde faction say that if Eknath Shinde does not become the Chief Minister, the Thackeray faction will get an easy opportunity to target Devendra Fadnavis. The Thackeray faction may allege that BJP and Devendra Fadnavis used the name and symbol of Shiv Sena to come to power and sidelined Shinde’s Shiv Sena as soon as they came to power. Sources say that the Shinde faction feels that the Thackeray faction and the Mahavikas Aghadi will oppose every decision of the Grand Alliance and will try to create conflict against the BJP in Maharashtra.
2- Marathi identity will get strengthened: By making Eknath Shinde the Chief Minister, Mahayuti can strengthen the issue of Marathi identity. Sources claim that this step will show BJP’s generosity and commitment to respect Marathi identity. This will have a direct impact on the opponents.
3- The image of good governance will be strengthened: Mahayuti has got majority in the state also due to the welfare schemes launched by the Eknath Shinde led government.
