Why do heart attacks occur?
Our heart works to supply blood to the entire body. The heart also needs constant oxygen and nutrition. This work is done by the coronary arteries. When fat (cholesterol), calcium and other substances accumulate in these arteries and create blockage, blood circulation reduces. If this blockage suddenly closes completely, oxygen cannot reach the heart muscles. In such a condition, heart cells start dying and it is called heart attack or myocardial infarction.

Main reasons for heart attack?
The biggest reason for heart attack is blockage in the arteries. But many risk factors work behind this, such as –

- high blood pressure
- diabetes

- obesity
- Decrease in physical activities
- too much tension
- unbalanced diet
- History of heart disease in the family
- Due to these reasons, the arteries gradually start shrinking and the risk of heart attack increases.
