What is anger?
Anger is a routine emotional response of our body and mind. When we feel that we have been wronged, that there is some danger, or that things have not happened as we expected, the mind can give an angry response. That means anger is not a disease in itself. This is a normal feeling. What matters is how we control it.

What happens in the brain?
When an event occurs that causes pain or makes us feel threatened, a part of our brain called the amygdala becomes rapidly active. The amygdala is a small group of almond-shaped cells present in both parts of the brain. It works to recognize emotions, fear, anger and danger as well as strengthen our memory.
After this, hormones like adrenalin and cortisol may increase in the body. Due to this, the heart beats faster, breathing becomes faster and the body becomes ready to face any situation. This is the reason why many people’s face turns red when they are angry and their voice becomes loud.

Why does everyone get angry on different things?
Every person’s experiences, nature and conditions are different. Therefore, the reason for anger can also be different. As –
- Someone gets angry due to traffic jam.
- On repeatedly interrupting someone.
- When someone feels insulted.
- When someone has too much work pressure.
That is, the reason for anger is not just the incident, but how we see and feel that incident also matters. For example, consider it like this, suppose two friends are going to office and there is a jam on the way. The first person thinks, ‘It will be late again today,’ and he becomes very angry. The other person accepts that the jam is not under his control, so he remains calm. The incident is the same, but the thinking of both is different. This is the reason why not every person gets equally angry on the same thing.
