Why did the daughters stay with their mother's dead body for a year? Neighbors revealed

The case of daughters staying with their mother’s dead body for a year in Madarwan area of Varanasi has shocked the people. 27 year old Pallavi and 19 year old Vaishnavi were living with their mother who had died a year ago. Pallavi and Vaishnavi’s mother Usha Tiwari died on 8 December 2022. Both the sisters had told the neighbors and relatives that they had performed his last rites. Both of them were earning their living by selling the jewelery and utensils of their dead mother and did not allow anyone to come inside their house.

To understand why this happened, TV9 Digital’s team went to the same house, but it was locked. So the team reached the adjacent house. There we met Shalu, who lived in the neighbourhood, who was the same age as Pallavi, the elder daughter of deceased Usha Tiwari. We took information from Shalu on this heart-wrenching case.

Both the girls do not talk to the people of the locality.

Shalu told that Usha Tiwari’s entire family was isolated from the locality. Pallavi also rarely talked. There was a difference in his behavior since two-three months. She came to our house once or twice to buy food items. When asked, she told that her mother was not well. Both of us sisters are taking care of her, but since we had not seen Usha Aunty for several months, we became suspicious. Shalu told that Pallavi had done M.Com and was doing MBA from Kashi Vidyapeeth.

Neighbors informed the girls’ maternal grandfather

Neighbor Ramesh Singh told that we became suspicious due to change in the behavior of the girls and we called the maternal grandfather of the girls. Nana sent his second son-in-law, Dharmendra Tripathi, who lives in Mirzapur. When Dharmendra Tripathi reached home with Lanka Police, the matter was different. When the police broke the door and reached inside, Usha ji’s body was lying on a bed covered with a sheet and blanket in a room. Ramesh Singh told that I too had entered the house in 2002 and we were neighbors for 23 years.

The financial condition of the family deteriorated due to Corona

Algu, who knew the Tiwari family for 20 years, told that Usha Tiwari’s cosmetic shop was closed in the second wave of Covid. The family was in financial trouble. The family remained cut off from the locality right from the beginning. The family relationship was already not good and running the house had become difficult due to the closure of the shop, but even after all this, I cannot understand why the daughters did this?
