Out of 288 seats in Maharashtra, BJP has won 132 seats. Shiv Sena Shinde faction has won 57 seats. Ajit Pawar’s NCP won 41 seats. The number of Mahayuti MLAs has reached 240. To form the government, it is necessary to be elected on 145 seats, but Mahayuti has won more than that, 95 seats. Therefore, a Mahayuti government will be formed in the state.
At the same time, Mahavikas Aghadi has won only 46 seats. In this, Thackeray group has won 20 seats, Congress 16 and Sharad Pawar led NCP won only 10 seats. In this election, Samajwadi Party has won 2 seats and independents have won 10 seats. But both MNS and Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi could not even open their accounts.
The result of Maharashtra Assembly elections is neither past nor future. The result surprised many veterans. Many stalwarts and parties lost ground in the BJP wave. After good performance in the Lok Sabha elections, Mahavikas Aghadi is completely failing in the assembly elections. The factor of Maratha leader Manoj Jarange Patil has also become ineffective. Know what is the reason for this?
Why did Mahavikas Aghadi fail?
- my girl sister plan: Mahayuti got huge support for this plan. This scheme, launched before the elections, left a good impression of Mahalia among rural and urban women and also converted it into votes. Mahayuti benefited from increase in women voters.
- Got support from smaller castes: Mahayuti did not depend only on traditional Maratha and OBC votes. Small social groups were taken along. The move to give reservation to some castes before the elections sent a big message, whereas Mahavikas Aghadi did not get their support.
- Benefits of increasing vote percentage: There was vigorous voting in Maharashtra except urban areas. Vote percentage increased. This is the first time that so much voting took place. It was seen that BJP-Mahayuti got huge votes from rural areas.
- Union Micro Planning: BJP has benefited a lot from the micro planning of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. Nukkad meetings and direct public contact of volunteers played a big role in this bumper victory.
- Lack of coordination in Mahavikas Aghadi: There was a huge lack of coordination in Mahavikas Aghadi. There was no coordination between the three parties. The dispute between Congress and Uddhav Sena was very tense. He was not successful in creating confidence among the people.
Why was the Jarange factor ineffective?
- Jarange’s complicated role: After the announcement of contesting the assembly elections, Jarange’s role remained unclear. It seemed as if they were changing roles. After repeated changes in stance, Maratha voters turned towards Mahayuti.
- Chaotic situation: Manoj Jarange repeatedly raised slogans of ‘quit now and fight’, but later it was not revealed in whose favor and against whom he was. If his target was Fadnavis and Bhujbal then he should have entered the field directly.
- Marathas did not get support: To reduce the influence of Manoj Jarange Patil, Mahayuti fielded the maximum number of Maratha candidates. This innings was very effective. 29 Maratha candidates won from 46 constituencies. Maratha voters voted against Mahavikas Aghadi.
- Targeted at Fadnavis: In the grand alliance, Jarange’s criticism was focused only on Devendra Fadnavis. Chhagan was physically strong enough to say it verbally. In all these developments, OBC stood unitedly with BJP.
