Why was silver color banned from Punjab Kings jersey? (PC-PTI)
The jersey of Punjab Kings, which is performing amazingly in IPL 2026, is now quite different from their previous jerseys. At the time of the beginning of IPL, Punjab’s jersey had red as well as silver color but later the Punjab franchise stopped using this color. The question is why did this happen? Was there any specific reason for removing this color? Now these questions have been answered by team owner Preity Zinta. Preity Zinta gave this answer to a fan’s question on Instagram.
Why silver color banned from Punjab Kings jersey?
A user wrote on X that Punjab should bring back its old red and silver jersey, it was the best. To this, Preity Zinta replied that on the instructions of BCCI, this franchise had to remove the silver color from its jersey. Preet Zinta told that BCCI no longer allows the use of white, gray and silver colors in the jersey. Preity Zinta said, ‘The silver color was banned by BCCI because other teams complained that the white ball was difficult to see. The white ball is not visible properly due to the silver color on the jersey.
Silver got banned by the BCCI cuz teams complained they could not see the white ball against the silver! I miss the silver too!

The color of Punjab’s jersey changed and so did the attitude.
In IPL 2026, not only the color of Punjab’s jersey has changed but the attitude of this team has also changed. Punjab team has not lost a single match in the current IPL. Punjab has won 6 out of 7 matches and one match did not result. Actually the match between Punjab and Kolkata was canceled due to rain. Captain Shreyas Iyer has scored the maximum 279 runs for Punjab Kings. Prabhasimran has scored 287 runs and Cooper Connelly has scored 240 runs. Priyansh Arya has scored 254 runs in 6 matches. In bowling, Arshdeep Singh has taken 7 wickets and Vishak has taken 6 wickets. Bartlett and Yansen have taken 5 wickets each.
