Yesterday’s first match took place between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). This match was so exciting till the last over that breathing stopped. Batting first, Bengaluru scored 175 runs in 20 overs. Phil Salt (63 runs) played a good innings, but the rest of the batsmen could not do anything special. Chasing 176, Delhi lost 3 wickets early, but KL Rahul 57 and Tristan Stubbs scored 60 runs to take the team under control. Delhi needed 15 runs in the last over. ‘Killer’ Miller hit 2 consecutive sixes and 1 four and gave Delhi victory by 6 wickets with 1 ball remaining.
Hyderabad’s ‘Nawabi’ wins, Chennai loses
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) clashed at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Hyderabad in the evening. Here the bowlers and batsmen of Hyderabad together spoiled the game of Chennai. SRH, playing first, scored a big score of 194 runs. Abhishek Sharma and Heinrich Klaasen played tough innings of 59-59 runs. Chennai team, which came to chase 195 runs, was seen struggling from the beginning. The surprising thing was that none of the batsmen of the team could reach even 35 runs. Matthew Short scored the highest 34 runs. Hyderabad bowler Ishan Malinga broke the back of Chennai by taking 3 wickets. Chennai needed 18 runs in the last over, but they could score only 7 runs and lost the match by 10 runs.
