Match 1: Punjab Kings created history, defeated Delhi

Yesterday’s first match was played at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. After winning the toss, Delhi batted first and scored a mountain of runs which seemed impossible to overcome. On behalf of Delhi, KL Rahul did what no Indian has been able to do till date. He played an unbeaten inning of 152 runs. This is the highest score by any Indian so far in IPL. Along with him, Nitish Rana also scored 91 runs. Delhi scored 264 runs in 20 overs.

Punjab Kings chased the biggest score

There was a time when it seemed that Delhi would win, but Punjab had other intentions. Punjab achieved the target of 265 runs by losing 4 wickets in just 18.5 overs. This is the most successful run chase in IPL history. The heroes of this victory were Prabhsimran Singh (76 runs) and captain Shreyas Iyer (71* runs).

In the middle of the match, Delhi bowler Lungi Ngidi fell on his head and had to be taken to the hospital by ambulance. It is a matter of relief that now he is out of danger. Match 2: Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s century, but Rajasthan Royals could not win

The second match took place between Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. It rained heavily here too. Rajasthan’s 15 year old ‘wonder boy’ Vaibhav Suryavanshi stole the show. He completed his century in just 36 balls. He was out after scoring 103 runs, which included 12 skyscraper sixes. Rajasthan scored 228 runs on the strength of Vaibhav and Dhruv Jurel (51 runs).

Sunrisers Hyderabad won the match by 5 wickets

Hyderabad was not afraid in front of such a big target. Ishan Kishan (74 runs) and Abhishek Sharma (57 runs) gave such a start that the match went out of Rajasthan’s hands. Hyderabad achieved the target by losing 5 wickets in just 18.3 overs. Sunrisers Hyderabad won this match by 5 wickets.
