Ganga and Lucknow-Kanpur Expressways are connected to 14 districts of Uttar Pradesh.
Vehicles have started speeding up on Delhi-Dehradun Expressway. This expressway has started recently. PM Narendra Modi has launched it this month. After this, there is preparation for a new pace in UP. Two new expressways are ready. They are also being discussed a lot. The first is Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway and the second is Ganga Expressway. With their introduction the pace will increase. Time will be saved. Jam will reduce. Industrial pace will also increase. Business and job opportunities are also going to increase.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to inaugurate the Ganga Expressway at Mallavan in Hardoi district on 29th April. Its preparations have intensified. CM Yogi himself has gone to Hardoi and reviewed the preparations. Come, let us know how long are these two expressways and which districts will they pass through? Who will benefit, how many hours will be saved, when will it start and what are the features.
1- Kanpur-Lucknow Expressway: 63 km long
This expressway is approximately 63 km long. It has 6 lanes and is an access-controlled expressway. The maximum speed on which we can travel there is 120 km per hour. About 18 km of it is also elevated. This expressway is going to connect Lucknow, Unnao and Kanpur Nagar districts. This expressway will pass through many villages and towns. According to reports, it passes through 11 villages and towns of Lucknow and 31 villages and towns of Unnao.
Kanpur-Lucknow Expressway has 6 lanes and is an access-controlled expressway.
Who will benefit from this new expressway?
A large number of people travel up and down between Lucknow and Kanpur every day. Among them there are employees, students and businessmen also. Vehicles related to business and industries will also be able to reach quickly. Those who come to Lucknow from Kanpur and catch a flight will also get benefit. Fuel will also be saved due to the shorter journey. By saving time, delivery and logistics will be faster. Currently, it often takes 2.5 to 3 hours on Lucknow to Kanpur road.
After the opening of the new expressway, the time is claimed to be 40-45 minutes. This means that about 1.5 to 2 hours can be saved. Although the toll tax is not finalized, it is believed that this will be the smallest but most expensive expressway in the country in terms of toll.
According to media reports, the one-way toll will be Rs 275 and the return toll within 24 hours will be Rs 425. Earlier it was expected that it would be launched this month, but now NHAI has clarified the picture regarding this. This new expressway may start in May end or June 2026. Around 10 percent of its work remains.
After the opening of the new expressway, the time is claimed to be 35-45 minutes.
What are its features?
Many modern safety and management features are being mentioned in it. Arrangements for surveillance through CCTV are being made on this road with high speed corridor and access control. Arrangements for monitoring have been made from the control room. In future, work is also being done on planning of facilities like rest area, fuel station, trauma centre. Two wheelers will not be able to ply on this route. For the convenience of the general public, 11 underpasses, about 10 km long flyover, one railway over bridge and four bridges have been built on this expressway.
2- Ganga Expressway: 594 km long route will connect Meerut to Prayagraj.
The length of Ganga Expressway has been mentioned. This is also six-lane. If needed, it can be expanded to eight lanes. This expressway is passing through 12 districts. These include Meerut, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Amroha, Sambhal, Badaun, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Unnao, Rae Bareli, Pratapgarh and Prayagraj.

Who will benefit?
This expressway will connect Western Uttar Pradesh to Eastern Uttar Pradesh. Till now there was no such road, which was so long and convenient. In such a situation, every section of the society is going to benefit from it. Be they businessmen, farmers or government officials-employees or students. Transport and logistics will be easier. Farmers and small traders, whose goods will reach big markets. Industrial and warehousing sector. People doing tourism and religious journey, especially towards Prayagraj, Varanasi, Chitrakoot, Ayodhya.
This expressway will be inaugurated on 29th April.
How many hours are left now?
Currently the journey from Meerut to Prayagraj takes about 10-12 hours. Sometimes even more. When the expressway is operational, this time can be up to 6 hours. In this way saving of about 4-6 hours is possible. The date of commencement of this expressway has been decided. It is starting on 29th April. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to inaugurate this expressway in a grand program organized in Hardoi district.

What are the features?
There are many special things about Ganga Expressway. You will be able to speed there at speeds up to 120 km per hour. There are many flyovers and bridges on this route. Convenience centers have also been built. An emergency runway has been built near Shahjahanpur, where Air Force planes can land if needed. Its length is said to be about 3.5 km.
Some more expressway work in progress
Delhi-Mumbai Expressway is still partially operational. Work on the remaining parts is going on at a fast pace. As they are completed, they will be dedicated to the public. The construction of Bengaluru-Chennai Expressway is in the final stages. Very soon this will also be dedicated to the public. Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway will be completed in several phases. It is expected that this route will be fully operational by March 2028.
In this way, it can be said that Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway will shorten the daily journey. This will become a time saving route. There will be relief in office, business and emergency travel. Ganga Expressway will connect large parts of UP in one line. This will be a long distance game changer. The economy of many districts will get a new path. Other expressways will give new momentum to the country.
