Indian batsman Karun Nair has impressed everyone with his stormy batting in the recent past. He made a place in the minds of the audience. In the match between Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians on Sunday, he scored a lot of runs while beating the bowlers, after which they are being praised a lot. But meanwhile, former Indian player Navjot Singh Sidhu has made a shocking statement by making fun of the innings of Karun Nair.
Navjot Singh Sidhu’s statement on Karun Nair’s innings
On April 13, the 29th match of IPL 2025 (IPL 2025) of Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians (DC Vs Mi) was played, in which Akshar Patel’s team lost by 12 runs. But in the meantime, Karun Nair put a scorching innings of the game. However, his aggressive batting also could not win the team. He scored 89 runs at a strike rate of 222.50 while facing 40, including 12 fours and five sixes.
Between the match flew a joke
While on one hand cricket fan is praising the innings of Karun Nair, Navjot Singh made a big statement about his batting in a satirical tone during the match. He commented and said that
“There is a saying in Hindi, the peacock dance in the forest, who saw it broadly that if no one is watching, what does it mean to dance in the forest? It means that no matter how well Nair has performed in domestic cricket, unless he does well on the IPL stage, it does not mean it.”
There was a ruckus on social media
Navjot Singh Sidhu (Navjot Singh Sidhu) said that the IPL was compared to the World Cup. He also described the importance of Indian domestic cricket as inferior. They said,
“IPL is an annual World Cup, in which the best players from all over the world participate, while the Ranji Trophy is like a jungle. No matter how well you perform there, it has no importance. He further said, ‘That was Ranji Trophy. This is IPL, the World Cup of elite players. You will perform well here, and people will notice you.”
Significantly, the fans did not get this comment of Navjot Singh Sidhu at all and he reprimanded the former player. Actually, many fans believe that domestic cricket is the basis of Indian cricket and hence it should be respected.
