This horrifying incident took place on Friday during the ongoing Muharram procession near Rahmatabad cemetery on Ray Road. Taking advantage of the huge crowd, accused Faiyaz Premji was visiting people and distributing capsules to them for free. He deceived people that these capsules would relieve body pain and increase their immunity. Innocent people fell for his words and started taking bullets. But within a short time, there was a stir when the health of about a dozen people who consumed these pills suddenly started deteriorating. A victim named Salman Syed told that as soon as he swallowed the pill, unbearable pain started in his stomach and he started vomiting continuously. Eleven people who fell ill were immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where after a lot of efforts by the doctors, they are now said to be out of danger.

“Wanted to kill 15,000 people”: BBA graduate’s shocking confession
As soon as information about the incident was received, the team of Byculla Police Station reached the spot and took Premji into custody. When the police raided his capsule stock, the ground slipped beneath their feet. Police seized at least 14,900 ready-made poisonous capsules from the spot. In the initial investigation, DCP Jayant Meena made a shocking revelation that the accused had also ordered 30,000 empty capsules and 50 kg of deadly chemical. When the accused was strictly interrogated after getting police custody, he coolly said, “I wanted to kill at least 15,000 people that day.” The police are surprised to know that the accused Faiyaz Premji, who carried out such a big conspiracy, is an educated BBA graduate. Investigation has also revealed from his passport records that he has previously visited foreign countries like Iran and Iraq.
How deadly is ‘Zinc Phosphide’? which has no antidote
DCP Jayant Meena has confirmed that ‘Zinc Phosphide’ was mixed in these capsules sent for forensic examination. This is the same deadly chemical compound which is used in medicines and pesticides that kill rats. According to medical science, zinc phosphide is a perfect supplement for the human body. If someone eats it, it reacts with the acid present in the stomach to form ‘phosphine gas’. This highly poisonous gas directly damages (destroys) the heart, lungs, liver, kidney and brain of a human being. The most scary thing is that there is no specific antidote (cut or cure) available in the world for this poison. After consuming it, efforts can be made to save life somehow only on the basis of ventilator support and symptoms. At present, the court has sent the accused to police custody for two days, and the police has started searching for any possible terrorist connection or the mastermind hidden behind the scenes.
Confession raises concerns, but investigation still ongoing
During interrogation, the accused reportedly claimed that he wanted to target a large number of people. However, the police are now independently investigating this alleged statement and trying to find out whether there was any organized conspiracy or other associates were also involved behind it. At present, the accused has been sent to police custody and a case has been registered against him under relevant sections of the Indian Justice Code. The investigating agencies are now trying to get to the bottom of the entire matter on the basis of forensic reports, digital evidence and other evidence.
