The preliminary factual investigation report has now been submitted to the Dean’s Office.”

In the preliminary report of the hospital, serious objection has been raised to the comments of Dr. Sejal Pawar. The hospital administration said in its statement, “Initial reports have found that some of the comments made during the program were objectionable and insensitive. These were not in line with the dignity, empathy, restraint and professional responsibility expected of a medical student.” The hospital also said that the student has given a written apology admitting that some of her statements were inappropriate and could have hurt people.
Counseling of the student will take place in the presence of parents
According to KEM Hospital, counseling of Dr. Sejal Pawar will be done in the presence of her parents. The competent authority will thereafter decide on appropriate disciplinary action under the applicable rules. “Disciplinary orders as deemed fit by the competent authority will be issued in writing and communicated to the public,” the hospital said.
