Team India failed on every front in the T20 series against Ireland and England. Therefore, he suffered a crushing defeat in both the series. Team India’s performance on the batting-bowling front was poor but the ability of the team in front also contributed to this. But the biggest disappointment was fielding, which is under the control of every player. Its effect was also seen in the fifth T20 match, where Team India dropped 3 catches. The biggest loss in this was caused by the mistake of Shivam Dubey, whose fielding is not improving.

Shivam Dubey contributes a lot with his explosive batting innings but sometimes he compensates for it with his fielding. He had already faced criticism by dropping many catches in IPL 2026 and this trend continued in T20 International as well. Especially in the fifth T20 match played in Southampton, due to one of his mistakes, England captain Harry Brook got a lease of life, who then thrashed the Indian bowlers.

In this match, Team India gave the first blow to England in the second over itself and dismissed Phil Salt. After this, England got another opportunity to be put on the backfoot in the sixth over. Harry Brook’s catch bounced on the second ball of Prince Yadav’s over. The ball bounced high in the air towards the third man behind the wicket.

Dubey had a chance to take this catch but he could not understand the ball properly and kept adjusting himself for the catch. Ultimately he could not even reach the ball and the catch was dropped. Harry Brook was playing at that time after scoring only 3 runs and India had a chance to take 2 wickets of England even before 50 runs.

But Shivam Dubey, who had already embarrassed himself and Team India many times with his fielding, made a mistake again. Had to suffer the consequences of this also. Brook hit consecutive sixes on the next two balls of the over and then scored a half-century in just 19 balls. He remained steadfast till the last ball and returned after scoring unbeaten 95 runs in just 45 balls. He hit 8 sixes and 4 fours. That means one mistake was punished in the form of 92 runs.

Not only this, during this period Brook also made a record partnership of 233 runs with Jos Buttler. Well, not only Dubey, but Ishaan Kishan also gave life to Brooke. However, this drop happened in the last over, when Brook had already scored 90 runs. Jos Buttler also got a lease of life, who completed his century and was caught by Suryansh Shedge on the next ball. Butler then added 29 runs to his score and was out after playing a memorable inning of 131 runs.
