According to the Panchang, Ashtami Tithi of Krishna Paksha of Ashadha month will start on 7th July 2026 at 1:24 pm and will end on 8th July 2026 at 12:21 pm. According to the tradition of observing fasts and festivals on the basis of Udayatithi, the monthly Kalashtami fast will be observed on Tuesday, July 7, 2026.
How to do puja on Kalashtami day?
On the day of Kalashtami, wake up early in the morning, take bath and wear clean clothes. After this meditate on Lord Shiva and Kaal Bhairav. In the puja, light a mustard oil lamp, offer incense, flowers, Akshat and Prasad. Offering black sesame seeds, urad urad, coconut and sweets to Kaal Bhairav is considered auspicious. After this chant Om Kalbhairavaya Namah mantra. If possible, recite Kaal Bhairav Ashtak. By lighting the lamp again in the evening and night and worshiping, special virtue is attained.
What to do on the day of Kalashtami?
