According to the Panchang, the Amavasya date of Vaishakh month will start from 08:11 pm on Thursday, April 16 and will continue till 05:21 pm on Friday, April 17. Remedies for Vaishakh Amavasya 2026
1. Vaishakh Amavasya is also called Satuvai Amavasya. Donating Sattu has special significance on this day. Therefore, one must donate Sattu to the poor on this day.
2. The lord of Amavasya Tithi is Pitridev. Therefore, on Vaishakh Amavasya, Tarpan, Pind Daan etc. should be done for the peace of the ancestors.
3. On this day, taking bath in the holy river and offering Arghya to the Sun God pleases the Gods and removes troubles.
4. On Amavasya Tithi, feed green fodder to the cow, give bread to the dog and make balls of flour and put them in the river or pond for the fishes. It is also possible to get auspicious results from this.
5. On Amavasya, invite a worthy Brahmin to your home and have him eat food and bid farewell by giving donations as per your wish.
