Actor Abhishek Bachchan once shared a hilarious childhood memory involving veteran actress Zeenat Aman, revealing that she was his “first love” from Bollywood.
During an appearance on Sajid Khan and Riteish Deshmukh’s chat show Yaaron Ki Baraat, Abhishek recalled an incident from the Kathmandu schedule of the film Mahaan, when he was a child.
“She was my first love,” Abhishek said while remembering an evening when he and Zeenat Aman were having dinner at a restaurant.
After the meal, Zeenat was preparing to leave when the young Abhishek asked where she was going. She replied that she was heading to her room.
When he asked why, Zeenat told him she was going to sleep. Abhishek, who was not accustomed to the idea of sleeping alone at the time, innocently asked her, “You sleep alone?”
After Zeenat replied in the affirmative, the young actor followed up with an innocent question: “Should I come and sleep with you?”
Mahaan, directed by S. Ramanathan, featured Abhishek’s father Amitabh Bachchan in a triple role. The action thriller was backed by Satyanarayana and Suryanarayana and also starred Waheeda Rehman, Parveen Babi, Ashok Kumar, Amjad Khan, Kader Khan, Aruna Irani, Sujit Kumar and Shakti Kapoor in significant roles.
The film’s music was composed by legendary music director R.D. Burman. Mahaan was an official remake of the 1978 Kannada film Shankar Guru.
Zeenat Aman made her acting debut in 1970 with The Evil Within before entering Bollywood with Hungama in 1971, followed by Hulchul. She rose to prominence with Haré Rama Haré Krishna, starring alongside Dev Anand.
Her celebrated career went on to include films such as Yaadon Ki Baaraat, Roti Kapada Aur Makaan, Ajanabee, Don, Satyam Shivam Sundaram, The Great Gambler and Qurbani.
