A person turns into stone
This temple is so scary that people do not stop here till evening. People leave from here as the sun sets. There is a very scary reason behind this. It is believed that whoever stops in this temple after sunset turns into stone forever. After this scary scene, no one wants to stay here after sunset.
The temple has got a curse of a monk
It is believed that behind this scary secret is the curse of a monk. It is said that a Siddha monk left his disciples and left the king and the subjects. He asked the king to take care of them. But both the king and the subjects became so busy in their work that they did not pay attention to the disciples. Suddenly a disciple’s health deteriorated here. When the disciples asked for help from the villagers, no one helped him. When the saint came to know about this, he was very angry and cursed the villagers that whoever enters this temple after sunset will turn into a stone. Now the Rajasthan government has also banned going to this temple after sunset.
It is also prohibited to look back
According to folk tales, during that time a potter’s wife helped the disciples of the saint. The saint was pleased with the woman. He ordered him to leave the village by evening and said that he should not look back even by mistake. While the woman was leaving, she accidentally looked back, causing her to turn into stone.
Woman’s idol is still installed today
The idol of that woman is still installed near the temple. Due to this curse of the monk, panic spread among the people of the village and now no one could muster the courage to go to this temple after evening. Jain temple, Barmer fort and sand mounds can be seen near Barmer. Due to the mystery of Kiradu, people come to see this temple. However, it cannot be said whether Kiradu’s curse is true or imagination. But due to being in the barren place, this place looks scary. In the evening, not even during the day, there are not many people visible here.
