Trump’s social media blast: Ultimatum to 6 Muslim countries simultaneously!
This mega-controversy started when US President Donald Trump made a very shocking and big post on his social media platform ‘Truth Social’. Trump revealed that he has sent an invitation to Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Pakistan, Turkey, Egypt and Jordan to join this peace agreement together. “What kind of agreement is there with those who are not trusted?”- Defense Minister Khawaja Asif’s counterattack
Pakistan did not delay at all in reacting to this huge diplomatic pressure from Trump. Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, in a frank interview given to ‘Sama TV’, blasted Trump’s proposal. Khawaja Asif said in a very firm tone, “Personally, I do not think that we should be part of any agreement which is against our basic ideology and principles of the country.” In a sharp attack on Israel’s credibility, he further said, “How can you sit at the table with people whose words cannot be trusted even for a day? Iran deal and Abraham Accords: Pakistani sources reveal insider secrets
Meanwhile, a highly placed Pakistani source following the entire development told CNBC that the US’s attempt to link Iran peace talks and membership of the Abraham Accords is completely illogical. The source clarified, “These two are separate subjects and cannot be linked. There is no international obligation on Pakistan to accept any such unilateral demand of the US.” It is noteworthy that the original Abraham Accord was brokered by Trump in his first term in 2020, under which the relations of UAE, Bahrain, Morocco and Sudan with Israel were normalized. Now in his second term, Trump wants to expand it extensively.
Refusal to recognize Israel as a country: That old ‘passport rule’ of Pakistan
This tough stance of Pakistan is not new. Pakistan is among the few countries in the world that do not recognize Israel as an independent nation. Even on the Pakistani passport it is clearly written that “This passport is valid for all countries of the world except Israel.” However, the other five countries that Trump contacted (Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkey, Egypt and Jordan) have not yet given any public reaction. But considering the internal conditions of these Muslim-majority countries and the public’s deep distrust towards Israel, diplomatic experts believe that Trump’s ambitious plan has suffered a major setback.
