In the country, farmers are called Annadata (food givers), who spend their blood and sweat to provide food to the people, but what would you call it if the same Annadata is beaten by the police with sticks and sticks? Similarly, a video questioning the working style of the police in Hamirpur district of UP is going viral on social media. In this video, a policeman is seen beating the farmers with sticks to make them queue up at the fertilizer distribution center to get fertilizer. After the video went viral, to avoid embarrassment, the police officers put the accused policeman on line and started investigating the case.

The matter pertains to the cooperative society located in Sumerpur police station area. On Thursday too, like every day, hundreds of farmers were standing in line outside the fertilizer distribution center since morning to get fertilizer. Due to the large crowd, there was a scuffle among the farmers to stand in the queue, after which the policeman posted there started hitting the farmers with a stick and forcing them to queue, a video of which was made viral by someone. After watching the viral video, people are raising questions on the working style of the police.

Farmers are in great need of DAP fertilizer for sowing wheat, but due to less availability of fertilizer in fertilizer centers, there is a fight among the farmers regarding fertilizer. In some centres, farmers remain in queues the whole day. Despite this, if they are not able to get the fertilizer, then they spend the whole night waiting in line to harvest it, so that they can get the fertilizer early in the morning.

Farmers are not able to get fertilizer

Due to this, they also have to bear the rudeness of the police. This was seen today, where farmers had to face police lathicharge. According to farmer leader Santosh Singh, there is not enough fertilizer in any government fertilizer distribution center in the entire district. Farmers who need 10 bags of fertilizer are being given two bags of fertilizer. Fertilizer is available in private shops at double the price. Farmers are forced to buy.

CO will investigate the matter

After the video of a policeman hitting farmers standing in line for fertilizer went viral, to save the department from embarrassment, the police officers took cognizance of the video and sent the accused constable to the line. According to Sumerpur police station in-charge Rakesh Kumar, the entire matter is being investigated, but there is a lot of resentment among the farmers of the district due to this incident. Those who are calling getting sticks instead of asking for fertilizer a failure of the district administration. The CO himself will investigate this matter.
