Congress’s protest intensified outside the Prime Minister’s residence on the issue of paper leak and students. Rahul Gandhi was removed from the protest by the police, during which claims of bleeding from his nose came to light.
The political atmosphere in Delhi became very heated on Tuesday regarding paper leak and issues related to students. After taking out a march towards the residence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress leaders started a dharna, but after a few hours the police ended the protest and removed many leaders and workers. During this time, there was a scuffle while removing the leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi from the road and a claim of bleeding from his nose came to light. This development has further intensified the political conflict between the Center and the opposition.
March to PM residence, Rahul Gandhi sits on strike
Party leaders and workers led by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra marched from Rajaji Marg to the Prime Minister’s residence on Lok Kalyan Marg. During the protest, Rahul Gandhi sat on a dharna on the road and appealed to his supporters to reach there also.
Rahul Gandhi said that the government will have to answer for the alleged brutality done to the students. He alleged that the government is avoiding discussion on this issue in Parliament and does not want to take accountability on questions related to the future of the youth.

Controversy increased after police action
While the protest continued, Delhi Police deployed additional security forces and initiated action to remove the protesters. Meanwhile, many policemen surrounded Rahul Gandhi and removed him from there. In the video that surfaced from the incident site, it was claimed that blood was seen coming out of his nose.
After the police action, Rahul Gandhi told the media that “today the condition of democracy in India is in front of everyone.” On the other hand, Congress leaders alleged that the peaceful demonstration was ended by force.
Different claims of government and Congress
During the demonstration, Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office, Dr. Jitendra Singh also reached the spot and talked to Rahul Gandhi. Congress MP Syed Nasir Hussain said that the government wanted to end the protests, but the party was not ready to back down until the demands of resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and discussion in Parliament on the paper leak were not met.
Dr. Jitendra Singh claimed that the government was ready to discuss the issues related to paper leak and NEET in Parliament, but later Congress added the additional demand of resignation of the Education Minister. Meanwhile, Delhi Police says that maintaining security was their primary responsibility.
Now after this whole incident, the issue of paper leak has moved from Parliament to the streets and the political conflict over it is likely to intensify in the coming days.
