What did PM Modi say about K-pop and Korean drama boom in India?

New Delhi: K-Pop and Korean drama have become favourites of millions of people and it didn’t go unnoticed by the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi. Yes, you read it right! Prime minister Narendra Modi talked about the popularity of K-dramas and K-pop among Indians and also the increasing interest of Indian culture in South Korea.

PM Modi addressed the joint conference after holding bilateral talks with South Korean President Lee Jae Myung in New Delhi. The Prime Minister of India emphasised on the growing cultural ties between India and South Korea. Additionally announced that the two countries will organise an India-South Korea Friendship Festival in 2028.

What did PM Modi say about K-pop?

Talking about Korean dramas and K-pop, the Prime Mister Narendra Modi said that they are getting “extremely popular in India”. Similarly, the “recognition of Indian cinema and culture is growing in Korea too”. He further added, “We are happy that President Lee also appreciates Indian cinema. To strengthen this cultural connect, we will organize India- South Korea Friendship Festival in 2028.”
