West Bengal Assembly Elections 2026, Phase 1 Voting Percentage Live Updates: West Bengal is all set for the first phase of its Assembly elections today (Thursday, April 23, 2026. In the first round, around 3.60 crore voters will cast their ballots to decide the electoral fate of 1,452 candidates.
Voting will begin at 7 am and cover 152 Assembly constituencies spread across 16 districts: eight in North Bengal and eight in South Bengal.
These high-stakes polls come after a Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, which has reduced the voter base in the state by nearly 12 per cent.
To ensure smooth and secure polling, the Election Commission has deployed a record 2,450 companies of Central paramilitary forces, involving around 2.5 lakh personnel across the state.
