West Bengal Cabinet: Days after the formation of the new BJP government in West Bengal, the government led by Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari has distributed portfolios among ministers. In the government notification issued on Wednesday, all the ministers were allotted their departments. In the new cabinet, a total of 41 ministers have been given the responsibility of different departments. With the division of departments, the state government has made preparations to completely speed up its administrative work.
Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari kept important departments with himself
Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari has kept many important departments of the state with him. These include Home Department, Land and Land Reforms, Electricity and Law Department. The government believes that these departments are very important for state administration and law and order, hence the Chief Minister himself will monitor them.
Which ministers got the portfolios of Finance, Health and Industry?
In the new cabinet, senior leaders have been given the responsibility of key departments. Swapan Dasgupta has been assigned the finance department. Tapas Roy has got the responsibility of Industry, Commerce and Enterprise Department. Dr. Sharadwat Mukherjee has been given the Health and Family Welfare Department. According to the government, the role of these departments is directly linked to the economic development and public welfare of the state.
Allocation of departments completed after swearing in
Six ministers, including Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari, took the oath of office and secrecy on May 9. After this, on June 1, the remaining 35 ministers took oath as ministers. Now with the allocation of departments, the administrative structure of the new government is completely ready.
Cabinet ministers got big responsibilities
The state government has assigned important departments to many senior leaders.
- Jagannath Chattopadhyay got the higher education department.
- Deepak Burman was given the responsibility of school education department.
- Arjun Singh was assigned the Labor and Transport Department.
- Doodh Kumar Mandal got the responsibility of Agriculture Department.
- Nishith Pramanik was given North Bengal Development and Water Resources Investigation and Development Department.
- Ashok Kirtaniya was assigned the Food and Supplies and Cooperation Department.
Division of Panchayat, Urban Development and IT departments
- Dilip Ghosh will handle Panchayat and Rural Development and Agricultural Marketing departments.
- Kshudiram Tudu has been given the portfolios of Tribal Development, Minority Affairs and Madrassa Education.
- Agnimitra Paul has been entrusted with the responsibility of urban development and municipal affairs. – Gauri Shankar Ghosh will look after the Backward Class Welfare, Public Education Extension and Library Services departments.
- Dr. Kalyan Chakraborty has been entrusted with many important departments related to technology and innovation. He will take charge of the departments of Information Technology and Electronics, Science and Technology, Biotechnology, Food Processing Industries and Horticulture.
- Arup Kumar Das was given the Irrigation and Waterways Department.
- Ajay Kumar Poddar got the responsibility of Public Health Engineering and Public Works Department.
State ministers with independent charge also got responsibility
The government has also assigned portfolios to three ministers of state (independent charge). Malti Rava Roy will handle the departments of Women and Child Development, Social Welfare, Self Help Groups, Self-Employment and Program Monitoring. Rajesh Mahata has been given the Animal Resources Development and Fisheries Department. Dr. Indranil Khan will take charge of Youth Services and Sports and Consumer Affairs Department.
