‘Welcome to the Jungle’ received positive-mixed response from the audience on the first day. Akshay Kumar’s comic timing, starcast and nostalgia are being highly praised.
Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ finally released in theaters on June 26. With the release, the social media platform X was flooded with reactions from the audience regarding the film. Initial reactions to the film have been mostly positive to mixed. The audience has described it as a family entertainer full of comedy, action and nostalgia. At the same time, some people also considered the screenplay, music and visuals as the weak links of the film. The initial opinion of trade experts has also come out, in which the film has been described as a masala entertainer.
Taran Adarsh gave 3.5 stars, said – watch only for entertainment, not logic
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh gave the film 3.5 out of 5 stars. He wrote, “One Word Review… ‘Welcome to the Jungle’: Entertaining. Rating: ⭐⭐⭐½. Get ready to watch entertainment akin to the masala films of the 1980s. The focus of the film is not on logic or reasoning, but on fun, laughter, nostalgia and mass entertainment. Many of the jokes work brilliantly, although the post-interval portion feels a bit long.”

Film critic Joginder Tuteja wrote, “‘Welcome to the Jungle’ is a non-stop action comedy that moves at a fast pace. Rating: 🤣🤣🤣½. If Manmohan Desai had made a film by combining ‘Sholay’ and ‘Amar Akbar Anthony’, it would probably have been like ‘Welcome to the Jungle’. As he used to say, there should be a highlight scene every 10 minutes in a commercial film. Here too there is comedy, action. And the music keeps the audience entertained continuously, leaving no chance of boredom.”

The trio of Akshay, Paresh and Rajpal won hearts

‘Second half is fantastic, value for money family entertainer’
Another viewer described the film as ‘super entertaining’ and wrote, “The first half is good, but the second half is even better. Akshay Kumar is great. The rest of the cast has also done a fantastic job. This is a complete family entertainer full of comedy and action. This is a total value for money film, don’t miss it.”
‘Don’t look for logic, you will leave the theater smiling’
One user wrote, “This is a clean family entertainer. Here the women are not used just for glamor nor are there a lot of double meaning jokes. Don’t expect logic in this kind of film. All the actors try their best to make the audience laugh. Akshay Kumar is seen having fun. Farida Jalal is very funny. Sunil Shetty, Arshad Warsi, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav and Johnny Lever is brilliant in his roles, the visuals and music could have been better, but the film still sends you out of the theater smiling.”
‘Akshay is the life of the film, but some characters disappoint’
Another viewer wrote, “Akshay Kumar is the life of this film. The pairing of him and Sunil Shetty is reminiscent of ‘Hera Pheri’. Disha Patani impresses the most, while the pairing of Raveena Tandon and Akshay Kumar gives a feeling of nostalgia. However, the characters of Urvashi Rautela and Jacqueline Fernandes seemed weak and boring. As weak as the trailer and songs were, the film did not turn out to be that bad. Akshay and Sunil took over the film.”
Story and starcast of the film
The Censor Board has given the film UA 16+ certificate. According to reports, 18 changes were made in the film before release. Some dialogues and scenes were removed, while the total duration of the film was kept at 2 hours 44 minutes 50 seconds (164.50 minutes). Directed by Ahmed Khan, ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ is the third film in the popular ‘Welcome’ franchise. This time the story is set in the backdrop of a forest instead of cities, where events take place around a fake film project. Apart from Akshay Kumar, many actors including Sunil Shetty, Paresh Rawal, Arshad Warsi, Jackie Shroff, Rajpal Yadav, Disha Patani, Jacqueline Fernandes, Farida Jalal, Johnny Lever are in important roles in the film.
