According to CAT National President BC Bhartia and National General Secretary Praveen Khandelwal, more than 4 lakh marriages are expected to take place in Delhi alone this season, which is likely to generate business of about Rs 1.25 lakh crore. Based on the estimates made by CAT, both Bhartia and Khandelwal said that during this season there will be around 7 lakh marriages at an expenditure of Rs 3 lakh, 8 lakh marriages at an expenditure of Rs 6 lakh, 10 lakh marriages at an expenditure of Rs 10 lakh. , 7 lakh marriages are expected to take place with an expenditure of Rs 15 lakh, 5 lakh marriages with an expenditure of Rs 25 lakh, 50 thousand marriages with an expenditure of Rs 50 lakh and 50 thousand marriages with an expenditure of Rs 1 crore or more.
People will spend so much on clothes and jewelery
Bhartia and Khandelwal state that typically 50% of the expenditure on a wedding is spent on the purchase of goods and 50% on the purchase of services. At a glance, the approximate percentage of trade in merchandise sector is 10% in Textiles, Sarees, Lehenga and Garments, 15% in Jewelery, 5% in Electronics, Electricals and Consumer Goods, 5% in Dry Fruits, Fruits Sweets and Namkeens, Food grains, There is a possibility of business of 5% in grocery and vegetables, 4% in gift items and the remaining 6% in other miscellaneous items.

As far as service sector is concerned, it is estimated to be 5% on banquet halls, hotels and other wedding venues, 5% on event management, 12% on tent decoration, 10% on catering services, 4% on flower decoration, 3% The business figure has been calculated by spending 2% on travel and cab services, 2% on photo and video shoots, 3% on orchestra, band etc., 3% on light and sound and the remaining 3% on other miscellaneous services. Both Bhartia and Khandelwal said that after the wedding season, there will be Christmas and New Year sales and after that another phase of the wedding season will start from January 14, the day of Sankranti.
