During this period, strong winds can blow at a speed of 40-50 kilometers per hour, which will give people some relief from the heat and humidity.

Weather from Kerala to Tamil Nadu

IMD said that the Northern Limit of Monsoon currently extends from the Arabian Sea to the Bay of Bengal. Conditions are favorable for its further advance into Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Lakshadweep and some more parts of the Bay of Bengal in the next few days.

It may rain in these states

Light to moderate rain will continue over North-East India. Heavy rain is expected at isolated places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh in the coming week. There is a possibility of storm and strong winds in South India also. Wind speed can reach 40-50 kilometers per hour in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Tamil Nadu. Heavy rain may occur at some places in Kerala and Lakshadweep. At the same time, according to the Meteorological Department, there is a warning of a storm with a speed of 70 kilometers per hour in coastal Andhra Pradesh.

Storm will blow from Bengal to Bihar

  • Eastern states, such as West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Andaman and Nicobar Islands are also expected to receive rain with lightning and thunderstorm. Strong thunderstorm is also expected at some places in Odisha and Jharkhand. In north-west India, rain, thunderstorm and strong winds will affect the weather in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Uttarakhand. A warning of dust storm and storm with speed up to 80 kilometers per hour has been issued in some parts of Rajasthan, while hailstorm may also occur in the hilly areas of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

  • The maximum temperature is expected to rise by 6-8 degrees Celsius over some areas, especially Konkan, where hot and humid conditions are expected. Recently, the highest temperature recorded in Chandrapur, Maharashtra was 44.8 degrees Celsius, while the lowest temperature was 17 degrees Celsius in Dehradun, Uttarakhand.
  • IMD has advised people to stay indoors during the storm, avoid waterlogged areas and take precautions to prevent heatstroke. Farmers have also been appealed to protect their crops from heavy rain and hail and to arrange shelter and adequate water for the animals.
