There is severe heat in many states across the country at this time. People are dying due to heatwave. The mercury has reached around 50 degrees Celsius amidst the fire spewing from the sky. Meanwhile, there was sporadic rain in some states, but there was no relief from that either. The weather department’s forecast is also not pointing towards any relief from the heat wave. People will have to face this scorching heat till the first week of June. Only after that there is hope of getting some relief.
The maximum impact of the heatwave is being felt in Rajasthan, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and Madhya Pradesh, Haryana and Punjab. In UP, Rajasthan and Bihar, people are dying due to the heatwave. On Friday, the havoc of the heatwave was seen in many parts of Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh. In UP’s Mirzapur district, six home guard jawans including three polling personnel going on election duty died.
Temperatures drop in Rajasthan
On the other hand, Rajasthan got partial relief from heat today. Temperatures dropped by one to three degrees Celsius at most places. On Friday, Karauli recorded the highest temperature of 47.6 degrees Celsius. The temperature was 47.3 degrees Celsius in Sriganganagar, 46.6 degrees Celsius in Tonk Vanasthali, 46.5 degrees Celsius in Alwar, 46.5 degrees Celsius in Pilani, 46.4 degrees Celsius in Dholpur and 46.2 degrees Celsius in Churu. The maximum temperature in the capital Jaipur was recorded at 45 degrees Celsius.
5 people died due to heatwave in Rajasthan
According to the data released by the Rajasthan government, nine people have died so far due to heat stroke. Till May 31, a total of 4,911 heat stroke patients have reached the hospital. Himanshu Sharma, a scientist at the Jaipur-based Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), said that Rajasthan will get relief from heat wave in the coming days. The maximum temperature is likely to fall by 2-3 degrees Celsius in the next 48 hours. Due to the western disturbance, there is also a possibility of thunderstorms in the northern districts of east-west Rajasthan.
If we talk about other states, heatwave conditions persisted in many parts of Chhattisgarh. Heatwave was felt in some parts of Odisha, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Andhra Pradesh. However, a slight drop in maximum temperature was also recorded in these states, as a result of which the effect of heatwave was slightly less in Rajasthan, Punjab, eastern Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha.
How will the weather be in Delhi on June 1?
On the other hand, people in the capital Delhi had to face severe heat. Here on Friday, the mercury was recorded at 49.6 degrees Celsius in Mungeshpur. The maximum temperature in the whole of Delhi was 45.8 degrees Celsius, which was six degrees above normal. The Meteorological Department said that Delhi received rain only for two days in the month of May, which is the lowest in the last 10 years. IMD has issued a yellow alert for Saturday i.e. June 1 in Delhi and has predicted partly cloudy weather and rain with thunder and lightning and dust storm at some places.
