IMD Weather Forecast: Monsoon will be fully active in many states of the country on July 20, 2026. The impact of rain, thunder and strong winds will be seen in different parts of Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Rajasthan and Maharashtra. Light to moderate rain is expected in many cities, while warnings of heavy rain and lightning have also been issued for some areas. There will also be a drop in temperature, due to which people will get relief from the heat at many places.

Relief from heat in Delhi-NCR, chances of moderate rain

The maximum temperature in Delhi on July 20 is expected to be 33 degrees and minimum 26 degrees Celsius. The sky will remain cloudy throughout the day and there is a possibility of moderate rain. The temperature will drop compared to July 19. After this, light to moderate rain may continue from July 21 to 24 and the maximum temperature will remain between 32 to 33 degrees.

Warning of heavy rain in many districts of Uttar Pradesh

Monsoon will be most active in Uttar Pradesh. There is a possibility of rain and lightning in many districts including Agra, Kanpur, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Lucknow, Meerut, Bareilly, Bijnor, Ayodhya, Banda and Ballia. On July 20, a warning of heavy to very heavy rain and lightning has been issued in Agra, Ayodhya, Banda, Ballia, Kanpur, Lucknow, Prayagraj and Varanasi. The temperature will be between 27 to 35 degrees in most cities. Even after July 21, intermittent rain is likely to continue in many districts.

Rain with thunder in Madhya Pradesh

There is a possibility of rain and thundershowers amid clouds in Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, Ujjain and Chitrakoot of Madhya Pradesh on July 20. The maximum temperature is expected to be 32 degrees in Bhopal, 31 degrees in Indore and 35 degrees in Gwalior. Rain and thunderstorms may continue in many parts from 21st to 24th July.

Clouds will rain continuously in Chhattisgarh

Raipur, Durg, Ambikapur and Saraipali of Chhattisgarh will remain cloudy throughout the day on July 20. The maximum temperature in Raipur and Durg is likely to be 27 degrees, while in Saraipali it is likely to be 30 degrees. There is a possibility of one or two rounds of rain and lightning along with thunder in most areas. The weather will remain almost like this for the next several days.

Rain activity will increase in Rajasthan from July 20

The weather will start changing in Rajasthan from July 20. There is a possibility of rain and thundershowers in Jaipur, Ajmer, Kota, Udaipur, Pilani and Mount Abu. The impact of rain will be more in Kota, Udaipur and Mount Abu, while there may be isolated rain with clouds in Bikaner, Jaisalmer and Jodhpur. After July 21, rain activities are expected to increase further in many parts of the state.

Rain with strong winds in Haryana

Ambala, Karnal, Gurugram, Hisar, Rohtak, Narnaul and Bhiwani of Haryana will remain cloudy on July 20. There is a warning of thunderstorms and strong surface winds in Ambala. The maximum temperature in most cities will be between 29 to 37 degrees. The scope of rain may increase further from July 21.

Rain continues in many cities including Mumbai in Maharashtra

In Maharashtra, monsoon will be active in Mumbai, Pune, Nashik, Ratnagiri and Solapur on July 20. Moderate rain is expected in all parts of Mumbai and the temperature will be around 31-32 degrees. Light rain will continue over Pune and Nashik, while moderate rain is likely over Ratnagiri. There is also a warning of heavy rain in Ratnagiri on July 22.
