There is a possibility of rain, thunder and strong winds in different areas from Delhi-NCR to Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana, Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra. Warnings of heavy rain and lightning have been issued in many cities, while at some places light to moderate rain can provide relief to people amid the humidity and heat. According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, rain is likely to continue in most of the states for the next 4-5 days.

Impact of rain, thunder and strong winds in Delhi-NCR today

The maximum temperature in Delhi on Sunday, July 19 is expected to be 36 degrees and the minimum will be 29 degrees Celsius. There may be light rain with thunderstorms and strong winds at a speed of 30 to 40 km per hour in the morning and afternoon. The weather will be hot and humid. Delhi will remain cloudy from 20th to 24th July and light to moderate rain is likely to continue. The weather will remain relatively calm in Gurugram today, while there are indications of increase in thunderstorms and rain from July 21.

Alert of heavy rain in many districts of Uttar Pradesh

Today in Uttar Pradesh, the maximum impact will be seen in the central and eastern parts. There is a warning of heavy rain with thunder in districts like Lucknow, Kanpur, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Bareilly, Bijnor, Meerut, Ayodhya, Ballia and Banda. The maximum temperature in Agra today may be 38 degrees, but an alert is issued for heavy to very heavy rain on July 20 and 21. There is a possibility of intermittent heavy rain in Lucknow today with a maximum temperature of 28 degrees. Rain will continue in most districts after July 20, although the warning level may gradually reduce.

Danger of lightning along with rain in Madhya Pradesh

There is a possibility of rain and thundershowers amid clouds in Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, Chitrakoot and Ujjain today. The temperature may be 33/26 degrees in Bhopal, 32/24 degrees in Indore and 37/28 degrees in Gwalior. Intermittent rain and thunderstorms are expected to continue in most of the districts till July 24. People have been advised to stay away from open places during lightning.

Continuous rain continues in Chhattisgarh

Raipur, Durg, Ambikapur and Saraipali will remain cloudy throughout the day today with the possibility of one or two spells of rain and thundershowers. The temperature is expected to be 28/24 degrees in Raipur and 27/24 degrees in Durg. There will be a possibility of daily rain and lightning in almost all major cities till July 24.

Changing weather in Rajasthan and Haryana

In Rajasthan’s Jaipur, Ajmer, Kota, Udaipur, Mount Abu and Bikaner today there may be light rain or thundershowers at some places. The maximum temperature in Jaipur will be 35 degrees, while rain activities are likely to intensify in most cities from July 21. There is a warning of thunderstorms and strong surface winds in Ambala, Haryana today. It will be hot in Karnal, Rohtak, Hisar, Bhiwani and Narnaul today, but the period of rain and strong winds may start from July 21.

Moderate rain in Mumbai, light rain in Pune-Nashik in Maharashtra
