We are writing a new chapter of success in Special Olympics – Dr. Mallika Nadda

Asia Pacific Bocci and Bowling Competition is being organized for the first time by Special Olympics India in Delhi. More than 100 athletes with intellectual ability from 12 countries are participating in this competition. It was inaugurated by Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar on Tuesday at Tyagraj Stadium in Delhi.

A dinner was organized by Special Olympics India on Wednesday evening in Delhi for all the officials associated with the organization of Asia Pacific Bocchi and Bowling Competition. Many well-known personalities including Dr. Mallika Nadda, President of Special Olympics India and Deepak Natalie, President and Managing Director of Special Olympics Asia Pacific participated in it.

Dr. Mallika Nadda expressed hope of medal

On this occasion, President of Special Olympics India, Dr. Mallika Nadda said that we have full hope that the way our athletes with intellectual ability have worked hard for this competition, we have full hope that we will also win the medal. 12 players are participating in this competition from India.

Dr. Mallika Nadda said that the objective of Special Olympics is to provide a better platform to such children with special intellectual abilities so that their sporting talent can be honed. And, those children can also bring glory to the country and also live with self-respect in the society. For this we are working hard and the results are also good.

Will help in Olympic bid

Dr Nadda said that the specialty of this competition is that adult athletes are getting a chance to play in it. Athletes ranging from 22 years to 42 years are participating in this competition. To reach out to maximum athletes, we have set up 60 centers in schools and colleges. We have already started preparing for the Winter Olympics 2025 and Summer Olympic World Games. This will also strengthen the Olympic bid.

Deepak Natalie, President and Managing Director of Special Olympics Asia Pacific, said that India is a big country and we have high expectations from India. India has performed very well in the Special Olympic Games in the last few years and organizing the Asia Pacific Bocci and Bowling Competition in Delhi will give a lot of encouragement to the players.

Players from Indonesia, Myanmar, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, Macau, Hong Kong, Uzbekistan and Australia are participating in the Asia Pacific Bochi and Bowling Competition held in Delhi.
