Experts say that this can slow down the speed of our digestion. Actually, watermelon contains about 92 percent water and it gets digested very quickly. Biryani contains heavy fats, proteins and carbs, hence it takes 3 to 4 hours to digest. When you eat a light fruit, watermelon, immediately after a heavy meal, the digestion process may get slightly disturbed. This may cause gas, bloating or acidity.

Eating watermelon after oily food like biryani is a bit like drinking cold water immediately after eating hot food. It may cause stomach upset for some people but cannot cause death.

It is not good to eat fruits immediately after dinner or lunch. According to him, we should have dinner at 8 o’clock in the night and if you are fond of eating fruits then keep a gap of one hour for this. If you have dinner at 8 o’clock, then you can eat watermelon or mango after about 1 hour i.e. at 9 o’clock. But in this you should take special care of the quantity. It is believed that if you eat fruits immediately after eating food, it can lead to overeating. If this upsets the digestive system then a condition of vomiting or nausea may occur.

Experts say that diabetes patients should eat these fruits sparingly. Because they contain more natural sugar and this increases the level of fructose in the body. Due to this, sugar spike occurs and the level of diabetes can worsen. Diabetes patients should not consume shakes made from these mangoes even by mistake.

  4. Avoid eating too cold watermelon because this fruit taken out of the fridge can cause sore throat or digestive problems.
