Rajasthan News Desk !!! The City Palace, Jaipur was constructed between 1729-1732 in Jaipur as it presents a picture of heritage and rich culture. Sawai Jai Singh II commissioned this palace especially the exterior architecture of the building. Moving out of Amer, he moved to the city of Jaipur as the problem of water shortage had increased resulting in inadequate supply of water to the people. Also, he called in a Bengali architect Vidyadhar Bhattacharya who designed the complex following the rules of Vastu Shastra, which is why till date, the City Palace is listed as a major attraction of the state.

The City Palace, Jaipur has pavilions, gardens and temples of various shapes and sizes. There are huge entrance gates like Tripoli (three gates), Udai Pol and Virendra Pol that provide entry to the complex. While the latter two are open to the public, the first one allows the royal families to pass through it. The main attractions of this place include Chandra Mahal, Mukut Mahal, Shri Govind Dev Ji Temple, Maharani Ka Mahal, Mubarak Mahal and City Palace Museum.
