Vivo’s next V-series refresh may arrive sooner than expected, with a new leak claiming that the Vivo V80 lineup is being prepared for a mid-August launch.
The rumour points to a sizeable battery upgrade and a high-refresh display, while suggesting that Vivo may retain some core hardware from the Vivo V70.
Additionally, the Vivo V80 price in India is tipped to start from under Rs 60,000. The post by tipster Sanju Choudhary suggests that the Vivo V80 will cost around the same as the recently launched OPPO Reno 16, which is currently priced at Rs 61,999 for the base model.
Vivo V80 Specifications Tipped Ahead of Launch
The standard Vivo V80 could feature a 6.59-inch flat display with a 1.5K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. If accurate, this would keep the phone focused on users who want a smooth screen experience for gaming, scrolling and media consumption.
The leak claims that the Vivo V80 will use the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, the same platform associated with its predecessor. That may disappoint buyers expecting a processor jump, but Vivo could instead focus on battery life, charging, camera tuning and build quality to differentiate the new model.
The biggest reported change is the battery. The Vivo V80 is tipped to pack a 7,200mAh unit with support for 90W fast charging. A battery of that size would be notable in the slim mid-premium smartphone segment, especially if Vivo manages to keep the device reasonably lightweight.
On the camera front, the phone is said to carry a triple rear setup led by a 50MP primary sensor. The leak also mentions a 50MP periscope telephoto camera and an 8MP ultrawide camera. For selfies and video calls, the Vivo V80 may include a 50MP front camera.
Design and Durability Could be Key Talking Points
Other tipped features include a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, an aluminium alloy frame and an IP69 rating. The fingerprint hardware would be a premium addition if included, while the IP69 rating would indicate stronger dust and water resistance than many mainstream phones.
The Vivo V80 series could debut in India as a rebranded version of the Vivo S60 line-up, which was unveiled in China last month. Vivo has not confirmed the Vivo V80 series launch date or specifications yet. Until an official announcement arrives, these details should be treated as early leaks.
