The situation is very bad due to pollution in Delhi. The AQI of many areas of the capital continues to remain above 300-400. Suddenly the cold increased and fog started appearing in the sky, after which the visibility reduced considerably. There was fog in the sky even on Tuesday morning, due to which many flights were cancelled. Along with this, many trains going through Delhi or coming from Delhi were also cancelled.
Not only this, many trains and flights have also been delayed and canceled due to low visibility. At least 22 trains were delayed and 8 flights were diverted on Tuesday morning. The AQI in Delhi almost crossed 500 on Tuesday morning. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert in view of dense fog for the second consecutive day.
28 trains delayed and 24 cancelled.
Apart from this, according to IRCTC on Monday, November 18, till 6 am, 28 passenger trains going to Delhi ran late from their scheduled time. These included many trains going to Delhi from North Haridwar, Dehradun, Kashmir, Lucknow, Shimla, Mumbai, Madgaon, Indore, Amritsar. 24 passenger trains were also canceled on Monday. These also included trains going to Delhi from different places of Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.

Seeing the impact on flights due to fog in Delhi, Amritsar and Chandigarh, Indigo Airlines tweeted on Twitter, “Travel conditions are being affected due to fog in Delhi, Amritsar and Chandigarh, including slow flight. “Includes possible changes in traffic and flights.” Appealing, he further wrote, “Make your plan accordingly and stay updated with the flight status for the right journey.”
Schools closed in Delhi
In view of the increasing pollution in Delhi, as per the order of the Supreme Court, all the schools have been closed and online classes are being started. However, students of class 10th and 12th are allowed to go to school, who will be given masks. Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai had said that the Delhi government is taking all necessary steps.
