Smriti Singh, who lives in Pune, told on social media that the average monthly expenditure of her three-member family reaches Rs 2.2 lakh. The interesting thing is that the family cooks its own food and uses electric vehicles, so there is no expenditure on petrol.

While sharing the details of the expenses, he said that every month Rs 28,000 is spent on rent. The son’s day care and nursery fees are around Rs 30,000. Around Rs 20,000 is spent on groceries and milk, while around Rs 15,000 is spent on eating out. Apart from this, electricity bill is Rs 6,000, internet cost is Rs 500 and online food order costs around Rs 3,000 per month. The family keeps a budget of around Rs 10,000 for shopping and the maid who works for domestic help is given Rs 1,800 per month. According to Smriti, the biggest monthly expense of her family is home loan EMI, which is around Rs 1.1 lakh per month. This amount constitutes almost half of the total monthly expenditure. Many people on social media raised questions as to why the family is paying EMI when it is living on rent.
