VIRAL STORY | Indian Woman Loses Purse Worth Rs 1 Lakh Worth of Belongings in Japan, Gets Back With Everything Intact

An Indian woman named Sonam Midha lost her purse in Japan, which contained cash and valuable items. Fearing it was stolen, she went to the police, only to discover that someone had found it and turned it in with everything still inside, restoring her faith in humanity.

An Indian woman in Japan thought her purse containing cash, house keys and a costly microphone was gone for good. Then she walked into a police station and found someone had already returned it intact. Sonam Midha described how she had hired a bicycle and gone to a restaurant with a buddy on Instagram. She had entirely forgotten about her pocketbook that she had left in the bicycle’s basket before going inside.

Before heading back to the bicycle, they stayed at the restaurant for nearly an hour. Midha knew the purse was gone at that point. She described the event in a video, saying, “I almost lost 1 lakh rupees today.”

In the hopes that the purse was still there, she and her companion looked at the bicycle and the spot where it had been parked. However, it could not be located. Midha thought it had been stolen because it included the microphone, money, and house keys. She made the decision to report the purse as stolen at the police station. She didn’t anticipate what transpired there.

The cops informed Midha that an identical bag had been turned in shortly before after she recounted the contents of the lost handbag. “When I told them all the things, they said that they had a purse kept with them that someone had just turned in. So when I looked, it was actually my purse,” she said.

Everything was still inside. The person who found it had not taken the cash or any of the other belongings. Midha was visibly emotional as she processed what had happened. “I wanted to cry, like, such nice people! People here are so kind, and humanity still exists here. And thank you, Japan,” she said.

She later captioned the video, “Visiting the Police station and seeing an officer expecting my arrival was not on my bingo card of this year. Love you Japan.”
