Violence broke out at night, police released tear gas shells

According to the information, the situation suddenly deteriorated around 8:30 pm around Sansad Marg and Tolstoy Marg. According to police, some miscreants threw big stones and water bottles at the security forces. There have also been reports of some people attacking with sticks.

The police took limited action and released a few tear gas shells to control the situation. After this the crowd was dispersed. Police claim that some unruly elements had joined the protest, who tried to spoil the atmosphere. According to the police, two ACPs, two inspectors and another policeman were injured in the incident.

Allegations of waving weapons, internet services also affected

Congress accused the government, opposition leaders reached Jantar Mantar

After the incident, Congress General Secretary K.C. Venugopal accused the government of disrupting internet services around Jantar Mantar. He said that this created an atmosphere of chaos and called it an attack on freedom of expression. He also alleged that the government is trying to suppress the voice of the youth. At the same time, Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh, senior leader Saurabh Bhardwaj and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha MP Mahua Maji also reached the protest site and talked to the protesters.

Delhi Police has appealed to the citizens to maintain peace. Officials say that at present the situation is normal at Jantar Mantar, Connaught Place and Tolstoy Marg, but heavy police force has been deployed as a precaution.
