Vikram-1 is India’s first privately developed orbital launch vehicle (rocket), which has been prepared by Skyroot Aerospace Company.
This state-of-the-art rocket has been named ‘Vikram-1’ after the father of India’s space program, Dr. Vikram Sarabhai.
It is a seven-storey high advanced multi-stage solid rocket. It is a propellant vehicle, which is fully capable of carrying small satellites into space.
Vikram-1 rocket is designed to place the payload (satellites) with utmost precision in Low Earth Orbit (LEO) 450KM away from the Earth.
