hanoi [वियतनाम]July 13 (ANI): The mortal remains of 15 Indian nationals are being flown from Ho Chi Minh City to Mumbai on a Vietnam Airlines flight and will arrive on Monday evening. The Indian Embassy in Hanoi gave this information.
In a post on Twitter, the Indian Embassy said that the mortal remains have left for Mumbai on Vietnam Airlines flight VN 979 and will arrive at 21:30 local time. The state governments of Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Tamil Nadu will coordinate to transport the mortal remains to their final destination in the respective states.
Embassy expressed gratitude
The Embassy of India in Hanoi and the Consulate General of India in Ho Chi Minh City expressed gratitude to the authorities of Phu Quoc Special Economic Zone, An Giang Province as well as the Department of Foreign Affairs, Ho Chi Minh City, Ministry of External Affairs and all other agencies for all assistance provided following the tragic boat accident. It thanked Vietnam for its prayers and messages of condolence at this time of grief. “We are grateful for the many messages of condolences and prayers we have received from our Vietnamese friends. Your prayers, efforts and presence have given us strength at this time of extreme sadness.”

Andhra Bhavan made elaborate arrangements
Meanwhile, Andhra Bhavan informed that detailed arrangements for transshipment of mortal remains coming from Vietnam have been finalized with the intervention of Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu and in consultation with the Embassy of India in Vietnam.
Earlier on Sunday night, several survivors from Andhra Pradesh of the tragic speedboat accident off the coast of Phu Quoc island in Vietnam arrived at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA).
How did this tragic accident happen?
At least 15 people, including Indian tourists, were killed when a speedboat carrying 36 people capsized near Vietnam’s Phu Quoc island on Saturday, according to Vietnamese newspaper VN Express. India’s embassy in Vietnam said in the list of the dead that 10 people from Tamil Nadu, three from Andhra Pradesh and two from Kerala died in the speedboat tragedy.
The speedboat, operated by Ocean Pier Island Company, was carrying tourists from Hoan Me Rut islet to An Thoi Port, about 25 kilometers from Phu Quoc airport, when it capsized at noon (local time), throwing all on board into the sea, VN Express reported, citing Phu Quoc Special Economic Zone officials.
