Bullets echoed on the middle of the road: Criminal killed while trying to snatch revolver
According to SSP Sandeep Kumar Malik, when the accused tried to capture the constable’s service revolver, a fight started between the two for self-defense and control of the weapon to stop the accused. During this snatching, suddenly bullets were fired from the revolver. The bullet fired directly from point-blank range hit Naseeb Singh and he fell dead. On the other hand, in this bloody conflict, Senior Constable Jasdeep Singh has suffered serious injuries on his face, hands and legs. He was immediately admitted to the hospital, where after hard work the doctors declared him out of danger.
Big question on jail security: How did the sharp weapon reach the custody?
After this sensational incident, there is a stir in the Punjab Police Department. The body of the deceased prisoner has been kept in the mortuary for post-mortem. The biggest suspense and question is that despite being in jail custody, how did Naseeb Singh get that deadly knife? Had someone supplied this weapon to him on the way to the hospital, or was there a major security lapse from inside the jail itself? To find answers to all these burning questions, the police administration has formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT), which is busy connecting the links of this entire conspiracy.
