On the day of Vaishakh Amavasya, wake up early in the morning, take bath and wear clean clothes. After this remember Lord Vishnu and ancestors. Perform ritual worship by lighting a lamp at home or in the temple. Make offerings to the ancestors and provide food to Brahmins or the needy. Donating black sesame seeds, water, clothes and food on this day is considered especially fruitful.
