Team India’s young batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi is achieving new achievements day by day and touching new heights. Vaibhav has created history by making his debut in Team India at the age of just 15 and scoring a half-century at the same age as well as winning awards like Player of the Match and Player of the Series. He is already making a mark with his bat but now he is also getting a chance to show his leadership abilities. He has been made the vice-captain of East Zone for the upcoming Duleep Trophy season, while Ishan Kishan will command the team.
Opportunity in the team for the first time, became vice-captain
Duleep Trophy 2026 will start from 23rd August at the Center of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru. With this, the domestic season of Indian cricket will also start, in which many tournaments including Irani Cup, Ranji Trophy, Vijay Hazare Trophy will be held. But while in the rest of the tournament all the players will play for their respective states, in the Duleep Trophy a zone team is formed by combining players from several state associations. On similar lines, the East Zone team has been announced, in which grandeur Has got this responsibility.
Only 15 year old Vaibhav Suryavanshi is playing in this tournament for the first time and he has been directly made the vice-captain of the team. The most important thing is that Vaibhav is the only player from Bihar Cricket Association (BCA) in the 15-member squad of East Doon. This is enough to tell how much impact this young cricketer coming from Samastipur has made on Bihar cricket in his short career. He was also made the vice-captain of Bihar cricket team last year itself.
Ishan Kishan will take command
The responsibility of this team has been given to Ishan Kishan, who under his captaincy last year made the Jharkhand cricket team win the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy title for the first time. This tournament and this responsibility will also be very important for Ishan Kishan because through this he can stake a claim to return to the Test team. As far as the team is concerned, it also includes veteran fast bowler Mohammed Shami while there are also senior players like Mukesh Kumar and Abhimanyu Easwaran.
