RR lost the match but Suryavanshi won hearts
- Pathan said, Rajasthan Royals were out of the tournament after the defeat in Qualifier 2 on Friday and Suryavanshi will not be able to play the final of IPL 2026. But this left-handed batsman has created a stir in the tournament by scoring 776 runs in 16 matches so far and he can top the list of players who have scored the most runs. He has scored these runs at an average of 48.50 and strike rate of 237.31, which includes 63 fours and 72 sixes.
- He also played a stormy inning of 96 runs in 47 balls in the Qualifier 2 match against Gujarat Titans (GT). However, GT secured their place in the final of IPL 2026 by chasing the target of 215 runs given by RR.
How was the RR vs GT match?
- Talking about the RR vs GT Qualifier 2 match, RR had a poor start while batting first and the score was 9/2. After this, 15 year old Vaibhav Suryavanshi played a sensational inning of 96 runs on 47 balls and finally Donovan Ferreira scored unbeaten 38 runs on just 11 balls. Thanks to these innings, RR scored a big score of 214/6. Ferreira hit four sixes off Rashid Khan in the last over, resulting in 27 runs in that over. This equals the record for the most expensive over bowled by a spinner in the history of IPL playoffs.
- In reply, GT openers Shubhman Gill and Sai Sudarshan dominated from the beginning and made a huge opening partnership of 167 runs. Gill scored 104 runs off 53 balls, while Sudarshan scored 58 runs off 32 balls, helping GT achieve the target of 215 runs in just 18.4 overs.
