In Vadodara, a horse fell into a drain after a weak lid broke. After 4 hours of struggle he was rescued safely. The incident has raised serious concerns over the poor infrastructure and maintenance of the city.
A serious case of negligence of the Municipal Corporation came to light in Atladara, Vadodara on Wednesday. Here a horse fell into the stormwater drain. It is being told that as soon as the horse climbed on the lid of the RCC, it broke due to its weight. After this, a long rescue operation had to be conducted and questions are again being raised on the city’s infrastructure. According to reports, the horse’s owner was taking him home when the accident occurred. Due to the sudden breaking of the lid, the horse fell about six feet into the drain, which left the local people shocked. During this time the nearby concrete structure also broke.
The owner immediately shouted for help, after which a team of fire department was sent to the spot. It was a big challenge for the rescue team to reach the trapped animal as they had to break a part of the concrete slab. The frightened horse was continuously kicking, making the job even more difficult for those trying to get it to safety.
After about four hours of hard work, the rescue team pulled the horse out of the drain. A veterinarian later examined the horse and confirmed that it had only suffered minor injuries, despite the fall.
