The second phase of special intensive vetting has started in Uttarakhand. Names of 71.33 lakh voters have been included in the draft voter list.
Dehradun. Under the instructions of the Election Commission of India, the second phase of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) program has started in Uttarakhand. Chief Electoral Officer Dr. B.V.R.C. Regarding this campaign running under the leadership of Purushottam, Additional Chief Electoral Officer Dr. Vijay Kumar Jogdande shared detailed information in the press conference held at the Media Center on Thursday.
He said that after the completion of the first phase of the process, names of 71,33,785 voters of the state have been included in the draft voter list. Now all the voters have been appealed to carefully check their name, address and other details in the draft voter list so that there is no problem in future.
Draft Voter List 2026: Where and how to see your name
Additional Chief Electoral Officer said that the draft voter list is available on the official website of the Chief Electoral Officer’s office. Apart from this, voter list can also be viewed at the level of District Election Officer (DEO), Election Registration Officer (ERO) and Booth Level Officer (BLO). He said that all voters must verify their details, so that if there is any error, it can be corrected in time.
Voter Verification: Notices being sent to voters with wrong information
Dr. Jogdande said that notices are being issued through BLOs to voters who have found any discrepancy in the information submitted or who have not filled the required mapping related details during the SIR process. After receiving the notice, the concerned voters are being given adequate time to respond and submit the necessary documents. The objective of the Election Department is not to delete the name of any eligible voter, but to make the records correct and up-to-date.
Hearing will be held at booth level, special camps will be organized
Additional Chief Electoral Officer said that cases related to notices will be heard under the supervision of AERO and ERO in all the assembly constituencies. For this, BLO and other officers will be available at the booth level. They will prepare their report after verifying the documents of the voters. Instructions have also been given to the District Election Officers and Election Registration Officers to set up special camps at the booths or at places close to the booths to facilitate the voters of the plain areas.
Know important dates for Form 6, 7 and 8
The Election Commission has given time from July 14 to August 13, 2026 to voters to lodge claims and objections. According to the Additional Chief Electoral Officer, hearing of cases related to the notice and disposal of claims and objections will be done from July 14 to September 11, 2026.
He said that if a voter is not satisfied with the decision of ERO, he can appeal to the District Magistrate’s office within two weeks. In case of dissatisfaction with the decision of the District Magistrate, the right to appeal under the provisions of the Representation of the People Act will also be available in the office of the Chief Electoral Officer.
Voter Registration 2026: Process to add new name and make corrections
Dr. Jogdande said that eligible citizens whose names are not yet included in the voter list can get their names added by filling Form-6. For this, the concerned BLO can be contacted through offline mode, while online application can be made through ECINet app. He said that name can be removed through Form-7 and the details recorded in the voter list can be corrected through Form-8.
It is mandatory to fill Annexure-4 along with Form 6 and Form 8.
The Election Department has clarified that in the present process it is mandatory to fill Annexure-4 along with Form-6 and Form-8. Therefore, all the voters applying will have to complete this process with the prescribed documents. Election officials have appealed to all the voters of the state to verify their details in the voter list in time and, if necessary, lodge claims and objections within the stipulated period.
